Date: 1999-11-19 Even my BOYFRIEND got organized! My boyfriend is the king of disorganization and I thought Palm III would be just another toy. I'm very pleased to say that the novelty of the Palm keeps him interested, but it's still very functional.I have an old school Palm Pilot and I can say that this one has lots of improvements -- the stylus is much nicer and the screen is more sensitive. Also, the hard cover was a great development. This is definitely somthing to consider that can be found at a reasonable price.
Date: 1999-11-11 Mac users the poor cousins again I have a Symbol SPT1500 which is a Palm III with a barcode scanner. The combination of scanner and PDA is immensely powerful and I can see vast opportunities for it. The availability of a raft of cheap, small memory footprint utilities is the no 1 selling point. The bundled software is just adequate (although there are traps for young players when it comes to synchronising mail after deleting it on the Palm as I discovered to my loss.) We Mac users are the poor cousins though, with the software and hardware shipping only for the PC, and USB cables costing more. Most PCs have USB ports these days so why not support USB and IR out of the box ? Overall, I'm delighted !

Date: 1999-10-16 From a Windows CE convert One small quirk, the screen is hard to read in twilight or very bright sunlight. Other than that, I am very pleased with the product! I own a WinCE and was a very early adopter of it, but one thing I hate about that device, the apps are huge!!! That was one of my main reasons for switching, the fact that you can put a lot of useful apps (shareware pricing is great on some titles!) on 2 MB of memory. I am using EasySync with Lotus Organizer and it seems to work OK, altough sometimes it's a bit quirky. I might look towards the standard palm desktop software, since the interface is simple but effective. All in all, a great product. I am pleased with the shareware support and 3Com's web resources.
