Crash, crash, crash
That's right. Crash, crash, crash... as in it crashed 3 times in one hour today. I had to do three hard resets (this is very irritating and time consuming, in case you don't know what a hard reset entails). I've had my Clie for 8 days, and it's crashed every other day. I'm sending it back. Unfortunately, I don't know what I'll replace it with, considering there aren't really any quality handhelds in the same price range. Chalk it up to the [price]range and the poor man's PDAs. I gave it two stars. When it IS running, it's better than not having a handheld at all. If you'are also in that [same price range] and below price range like me, save an extra $50 and buy the Palm M500.

Don't Buy
I just got a new CLIE SL-10 and I want to tell you-
I was never as disappointed from a product I bought as I am now!
My problem is the screen. It is so dark - you can barley read the text on it (even after changing the contrast)!
In order to read the text you have to tilt the PDA and only then can you see anything written on the screen.
And what is a PDA good for if you can't read from it???

And -no! I don't have any problems with my eye-sight.

A bargain PDA with good features.
I've used the SL10 since almost the day it came out, after testing the Clie NR70V and other high-end handhelds, and I appreciate the features packed into this affordable device.

The 320x320 resolution makes it possible to carry decent black-and-white photos with the included image apps, and its processor is fast enough to handle most tasks. Like most PalmOS 4.x-based machines, it drags on high-intensity apps like XMap Street Atlas USA.

I bought this machine because of its low price tag (considering its specs) and the fact that it still took AAA batteries. I'm awful about remembering to recharge my devices, so I appreciate being able to pop into a drug store when my charge is running low. The batteries don't last as long as they did in my Palm III or IIIx, but then I'm asking this one to do a lot more, too, and I'm a heavy alarm user. I typically get 2-3 weeks out of a single pair.

This is not a PDA with all the cutting-edge bells and whistles, but it's a solid business machine at a price that won't make you feel guilty for upgrading more often. The included software has some good apps along with the junk. I highly recommend it.

Sl10 It's better then it's competition
Buy the Sony clie 20 from comp usa for 179.00 and get the free 128 Megs free! It's a better deal. You'll really like the white light better then this back light. However, this PDA is still a great pda. I just prefer the white light of the 20.

Decent PDA
This little PDA is actually pretty nice. It is quite professional, in both looks and functionality. Its speeds were very acceptable and its compact design was a big plus. There are caveats though. The lcd screen is not very bright. The contrast between the background and the text is not high enough, especially if you plan to put something like a WriteRight on these. When i kept it in my pant pocket, the battery compartment would occasionally open. This is due to the sliding compartment door. So a better battery compartment door and higher contrast screen would have made this a much better pda.
