NX70V is the Best PDA Ever
I've owned 7 PDAs in the past 4 years including 1 pocketPC and 5 Palms. The NX70V leaves them all in the dust. I still cannot believe how great the screen is. I use it to take pictures and short movies as well as view them. With the included Docs to Go, I've put my frequently used spreadsheets and Word docs on it. Its actually a very usable word processor especially with the thumb board. Using spreadsheets and Word documents are a great improvement over Palms.

I was afraid the battery would not last long. I keep the backlight on whenever I use it and still get about 4 days of frequent use on 1 charge. Not as good as a b&w Palm but I can't complain.

The NX has so many features and is such a great improvement over anything I used before, I'm glad I spent the money. Sony has earned it and then some.

Almost perfect
This model is outstanding. I've used it for about a month now and the wow factor is immense. Pictures are OK for an PDA (!?!) and this model can also take movies...over and hour with a 128 MB memory stick. Two issues: first, the movies CANNOT be played on anything other than the PDA. For now, they are propriety and that SUCKS. Second, Sony needs to come out with much larger memory sticks. Buy a charger to go with this unit...whether it be car or battery or whatever, since you will burn through the charge on even a four-hour trip, listening to MP3s.

Great gadget
I had the NR70V for a few weeks, till I found out that the NX was being released, so I returned it. And I am so glad i did!!! The NX is a VAST IMPROVEMENT over the NR series. They have literally improved everything.

1. It takes advantage of the large screen for most of the apps.
2. Palm OS5 is great -- much faster and much more pleasing to the eye - all the icons are much more colorful and sharp.
3. Camera has a much better resolution (640x480) and actually takes quite good pictures (great for emailing) and comes with a digital zoom. Also, you can add pictures to your address book, so you will not forget what the person look like.
4. You can now record movies with sound in two different formats. And it is so easy to do. This also has a digital zoom, but the resolution is quite low.
5. It also has a voice recorder option.
6. I do not quite remember if the NR had this, but the NX has a replacable battery. In most of the PDA's out there if the battery dies you might as well buy a new one.
7. Comes with more apps (mainly due to the new features).
8. Wireless capability (have not used it yet).
9. 200 MHZ intel PCU.

However, all of the above need a memory stick, so you need to factor that into the price. I suggest getting the 128 meg, since you will need the space. In addition I have a Sony VAIO PC, and they communicate really well when it comes to transfering data (movies, pictures, etc.) between them. This has to be one of the best toys I have ever had, and will definitely come in very handy. I looked at a lot of handhelds and this one is by far the best (in my opinion). Just wait till you see the clarity of the screen (try comparing it to anything else out there).

This is the one youo've been waiting for....
I'm glad I waited to spend money on a PDA. This is the 2nd generation of this model with a better camera that even shoots video with sound (something I was not aware of). The new Palm OS 5.0 looks and works with ease and this thing will even turn on your tv. It's expandable and has a slot for a much needed Memory Stick if you're going to also want to use this as an MP3 player. Some reviews squak about the battery life, but considering the vibrant color display and sound capabilities, I have no complaints. I put in the the charger cradle daily when I get home and so far I have not been inconvenienced. I'm still new to the PDA world and it's going to be a while before I'm taking advantage of all that this thing can do, BUT, until then, this is the BEST toy I've had so far. :) Make it an early Christmas for yourself, and I recommend getting the 128 MB Memory Stick.
