Can be used with outlook!!!!
I bought this palm yesterday at Best Buy for only 85 dollars (after mail in rebate). This is my second palm device, my first was a Palm 3. But anyway once I got out into the car a opened the box and noticed that it doesnt come with a cradle, just a usb cable,a power cable, and an adaptor to plug the Power?sync cable into the palm.
Then I got home and pluged in it. The screen is brilliant! It is extremely sharp and bright, plus it is color. Then I installed some software, as I searched download.com I remembered that Documents to go lets you sync your palm pilot with Outlook. Another thing is that the PC software called Kinoma producer is nothing special. You can jsut use sony's software for installing images for video as well. There are only two disappointments in this device.
One: The button an the bottom fell like they are really cheap especially the scroll button. I don't use them very often but they feel kind of cheap compared to my palm 3's buttons. Two: The storage capacity, this unit only has 16 MB of space this is bad when you try to use your palm for literally everything, but the memory sticks are especially usefull if you have a sony computer.

Macintosh OK
Someone has said that the SJ22 is not compatable with the Mac. It is. I use mine on both Mac and PC. All you have to do is download Palm Desktop 4.0 (free), iSync (free), and iSyncConduit (free).

Not for Mac! GRRRRRRRRR!
The PEG-SJ22 is great itself, but the reason why I put only two stars is because - guess what? - there is no software included for the Macintosh! Personally, I am a Macintosh user and evangelist and believe that Microsoft is an evil software empire, and the fact that I had to go looking for drivers really annoys me. If Sony really wants this product to get the extra three stars, they should include some documentation on how to install the drivers on a Mac, or at least where to find them. And also put the documentation in a more obvious place on their CD.

Great alternative to Palm don't let the whiners fool you...
Ok, just from the beginning. If your main objective is to sync with Microsoft Outlook BUY A POCKET PC WITH A WINDOWS READY O/S BUILT BY MICROSOFT or a Higher end Clie at least a TG50. Yes they cost MORE, A LOT MORE. The Clie' is for PALM O/S Fans, it works with Palm Desktop, which is FREE. You do not have to spend $300 for Microsoft Office so $69 bucks is a DEAL people.

Thank you, now where was I? The SJ22 is a lovely little machine. I finally broke down and upgraded from my Handspring Visor. I LOVE it. Set up was a snap. I was actually able just to beam all my info over. The battery life seems short lived, however I use it constantly and am certain that has a "draining effect" on battery life . The interface is simple, I am still not quite sure about memory card use and the manual leaves a lot missing but the website is excellent and has a fantastic user community as well. I do wish I had gone a little higher and bought something with headphone plugs and Sonys Wifi Clie's are obscenely high priced. The warranty however is much better than Palm's and for the price the SJ22 cannot be beat. When I go to replace this unit the clean lines, excellent design and easy out of the box use will have me buying Sony.

The non-Sony Brand metal case I bought locally for 19.99 is an ill fitting piece of junk. The Sumdex case with the cellphone pouch or or the Clie logo light grey zipper are great DO GET A CASE! The flap it comes with is not adequate by an means.

Fantastic Product at an Even Better Price
I got my SJ22 for Christmas...my father bought one for himself, my boyfriend, and I. Since then we've been busy learning all we can about our new toys and we have yet to be disappointed. The color and resolution of the screen is amazing. Setup was surprsingly simple, and doing things like entering appointments and downloading photos couldn't be easier really. I have not had need to attempt to sync it with any Microsoft applications, but I would say that it really isn't necessary given the decent quality Palm desktop programs that come with the handheld to install on your computer. I am a very busy college student with rather basic PDA needs; I have highspeed wireless internet at school and an expensive laptop so I didn't feel a need to get a PDA with internet capabilities. You can however write email messages on the go and then simply plug into your computer when you get back to the office (or dorm) and send them very quickly. Overall an amazing product at a fantastic price, good features and very efficient.
