Beautiful Screen, not so beautiful sound...

I wrote an long review on my blog above. The PDA has some very strong features including a very nice TFT display, 802.11b wi-fi, built-in thumb keyboard, entensive business oriented sfotware bundle. It has some weakneses as well, poor audio features, short wireless range and a cheap protective cover. It's kind of expensive and Dell has some units in the same price range like the Axiom x50:

That do audio better and matches or excedes other Tungsten C features. The Tungsten T5 has more memory, landscape mode display and bluetooth, but lacks wi-fi. If your looking for Palm PDA for a mobile professional that needs wi-fi this is the only game in town unless you want a T5 and don't mind springing for a SDIO 802.11b card.

Doesn't do wireless
If you are buying this for wireless connectivity, don't. It doesn't work. The connections are temperamental and totally unreliable. Otherwise it's fine.

DO NOT BUY FOR WI-FI!!!
As stated by other reviewers before me, after the Firmware update the Wi-Fi is completely useless. It seldom works with my home network. It can be working fine one minute and no connection the next. It frequently says there is no signal and no available network even though it is in the same room as my Netgear wireless router. The customer support from Palm leaves MUCH to be desired. Their people can barely speak English (apparently a Call Center in India) and do not acknowledge that the connectivity issue is very common. They had me send in my Tungsten C that was less than 90 days old and they sent me a refurbished one. It had the EXACT same problem right out of the package. They are now sending me another one that will undoubtedly have the same trouble. It is a great pda as long as you don't want to use it for wireless. DONT BUY A TUNGSTEN C FOR THE WIRELESS!!!

LOVE it!
Got this as a present for myself. Now, not only am I a geek, I'm a geek that can check his email wirelessly with a PDA. How cool is that?

I've been a long-time Palm person (and a Newton user before that--but that's another story) and this is the best one I have seen.

If you like Grafitti, you don't need this. Get a Tungsten and a wireless MMC card. However, if, like me, you think grafitti really isn't that good, this keyboard is excellent and you don't need grafitti at all. I'm able to dash off quick emails with it without problems.

Anyway, the C is great--worth, in my opinion, the premium price.

A PDA worth your while
When I aquired this PDA two years ago, I was a total newbie
where gadgets are concerned and this is my experience in all
this time that I've had it.

First, the fact that you have 802.11 connectivity is a real
plus. You usually don't want to carry around a laptop or
a similar item, some specific websites (not all because of
the browser's incapability to show popups and other typical
web features) can be seen, and all of the infrared goods are
a plus when used with your favorite IRDA enabled cellphone.

Second you have a color and a more decent resolution than of
the usual PDA's. This gives the Tungsten C a display that can
help pictures show in a more proper fashion. You get an email
program that has its limitations, but useful otherwise.

Finally, the only two drawbacks I found is that you need to '
upgrade to a more recent version of the PalmOS and the battery
after some time does not give all the time advertised. Overall,
the product is good and will be of great use once you have it.
