All my music All the time
Trying to figure out the tricks of manuevering within the software took a little bit, but no real problems I couldn't figure out eventually. I bought this toy in June and have did have a total lock up problem with it within the 1st month. After trying to troubleshoot it on the Apple website I sent it back and they quickly sent me a new one. Their 800# customer service support is decent, but not great. I'm a Windows user and I've had no other issues since. I have filled about 10 G's of it and purchased a couple Marware cases to better protect it(highly recommended)as well as the car adaptor stuff. I don't know how I ever I lived without it before, I take it everywhere and no matter what mood I'm in I always have the right music. Love not having to carry mountains of CD's with me. I only gave it 4 stars because now less than 4 months since the May release Apple has a new 20G for the same price I paid for my 15G...I'm a little cranky about that.

Buy it now and I am not going to say nothin' else
I have been lovin' the iPod since Christmas of 2002.I wanted this so badly but I got a Samsung Yepp.I was dissapointed with the fact that it could only hold up to 40 songs. Then,I moved onto the Archos Jukebox. It was a nice device but still not what I was looking for. When I graduated I finally got the iPod.I was speechless until later that day.Ok forget my life story go on to this.It is really easy to use.I'm a member of the youth club and I am able to use it.Y eah I might just be a regular smart kid.Plus,it holds over 3,500 songs.I have Smashing Pumpkins,KISS,Rage Against the Machine,The Simpsons,Sonic Youth,Marilyn Manson,Gorillaz,White Stripes and Zwan on this thing and not even half of it is filled up.Lastly,it's interaction with the computer.I am a Windows user and I use MusicMatch.Still easy but iTunes may be better. But I don't know everything. You can take all of your music and all of your playlists and transfer it onto your iPod using MusicMatch or iTunes, and then unplug and just go.Well that is my story of how I got the iPod.A totall reccomendation,I highly, highly reccomend this.

Nifty gadget
I received one of these as a gift, so I have no complaints. The device synchs perfectly, instantly, and automatically with OSX, though it required me to install the version of iTunes that comes with the CD. But as ingenious as this technological marvel is, the next question for me is what to do with it. Aside from the fetishist pleasure of carrying the thing in my pocket, I haven't found much place for it in my schedule. Listening to music with headphones doesn't do much for my social life, and carrying my whole music library around with me really doesn't enhance my appreciation of the original albums. Also, I'm thinking that just several hundred bucks more would purchase a laptop capable of performing the iPod's functions plus a whole lot more--and with convenient built-in speakers.

Maybe it's a generational thing.

If you pick one up, select the feature that allows you to choose the songs or playlists to load into the iPod. Otherwise you may end up having to trash your entire library of songs.

Windows version allows mp3 files ONLY from CD burning.
I use both Windows and Mac all the time. I'm tired of Apple's elitest B.S. The sell the iPod as Windows compatible, which it is, but they DON'T tell you the lame Windows program it comes with - Musicmatch - does NOT sell legal, downloadable mp3 tracks & albums (i.e. like iTunes). Instead, now that I've bought their $400 iPOD, they want me to invest another $2K in one of their computers so I can use iTunes. This feels a lot like a bait and switch. If anyone knows how you can pay for mp3 downloads on Musicmatch, I'd love to know. Thanks.

Insanely great, and works with Window XP and MusicMatch
I got the Apple ipod a few weeks ago and my only regret is that the 15GB has been replaced by the 20GB model. Other than that though, it is an insanely cool device. It doesn't quite hold all of my music collection, but it does contain about 75%. I've been using it with a Dell PC running Windows XP and MusicMatch Plus and I have not had any real problems with the interface. However, I'm looking forward to a PC version of iTunes in the future (I had to cross over to the darkside and abandon the Mac platform several years ago; no flames for that please!). Using MusicMatch is not quite seemless, but it is not the headache that you might think reading the reviews here. I've managed to load, organize and use it without significant problems. I do notice that some punctuation devices are problematic for MusicMatch but not for the ipod. Also I think that a firewire interface is to be recommended. Overall, this is a fantastic device.
