Good product
We bought this as a replacement for the PALM we had that ended up at the bottom of the river. The first thing we discovered is that the Windows based OS is MUCH better and more stable than the palm. We have had this for almost 2 years now and have had no problems with it, other than those caused by our own stupidity.
Being a windows OS means that windows media player is already installed, so you can use the more compact windows media files, they take up about half the space on a SD card.
I own both a HP desktop and this HP handheld, and I have to say I have had good experiences with customer service every time I have called. None of the problems listed by the previous buyer.
It's small and easily portable.
It has a really great feature: a complete backup system. It allows you to completely backup your hard drive to an SD card with just the touch of a button. The only way to erase the memory is to have the battery come out abruptly while it's on, (pressing the reset acts like a reset on a computer) but it's amazing how quickly small children can make that occur. Just pop in the card and click on the restore function, and it completely restores the unit and any programs you had installed.

My Memory in a Box
This is a great way to carry around all of those little details you no longer remember.

Nice display but be sure to buy a screen protector and an extra stylus.

For the not-so-technically minded...
I bought my iPAQ h2215 in the summer of 2003 as I wanted to replace my filofax which was getting increasingly thicker as I added more and more items to it.

I've been very pleased with it as it hasn't let me down at all. Now I have an extensive contact and address list on it, photo's of my family and friends, music, bible, Chinese dictionary, restaurant and menu lists, travel routes, and lots of work and personally related notes and infomation.

Of course, I've had to add a compact flash card to it to allow me to have all this extra information but it's been worth it and it saves me having to carrying all the other items.

The only problems I've had with it are:
1) Losing all my data when going away for a summer trip as I forgot to take my charger.
2) Snapping one of the battery compartment lid clips when removing it from my velcro-ed in 'Sumdex' holder.
3) Occasionally needing to 'soft' re-set the iPAQ from time to time - but as this only takes 1 minute to do, it hasn't been a problem.

After losing my data on that fateful first summer away, I've learnt how to link the iPAQ with my desk-top and now (irregularly) back my information up on it.

The cover that comes with the iPAQ is fine if you always intend to carry it in a bag, however, I've bought a 'Sumdex' holder for it so I can also keep a pen in there and assorted business/credit cards. Often I go out just attaching it to my belt or carrying it in my hand. The holder helps me to be just that little more organised with those extra items I collect.

There's other features which make it practical and fun (blue-tooth, down-loadable games) but essentially I use it as a personal organiser and it hasn't let me down.

One of the best Pocket PCs on the market
This is a fine IPAQ Pocket Computer that packs lot of capacity into a small case:

-400 MHz Intel microprocessor

-Good 3.5-inch screen with backlight, 240 x 320 dot per inch, 16-bit color

-Pocket PC 2003 operating system. It is compatible with any Pocket PC 2003, 2002, and even with certain Windows CE 3.0 programs that are compatible with the ARM microprocessor.

-64 MB of memory

-Accepts Secure Digital and CompactFlash II memory cards so you can expand the computer memory beyond 64 megabytes.

-Replaceable battery (it is easy to access the battery by opening the lid on the back of the pocket pc). This is much better than pocket computers with built-in or nonreplaceable batteries because these types of PDAs are usually too costly or difficult to repair if the batteries die for good.

Battery life is about 12 hours and recharging time is 4 hours.

-Built-in headphone jack, integrated speaker, and microphone.

-Includes Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer, MP3 and Media Windows Player and so you can easily synchronize the files on this pocket pc with your desktop computer.

-Has a picture viewer and eBook reader.

-There is a large selection of pocket pc programs you can run. You can go to a website like www.amazon.com or on the Internet to pay for these programs online and download them to your computer.

-You can input data into this PDA by using the built-in stylus to tap an onscreen keyboard, or you can use the various other input modes like "recognize" mode which will convert your writing into text with 2 or 3 simple steps.

If you want a portable, full-size keyboard for the IPAQ 2215 then you want to get the HP FA118A#ABA IPAQ Foldable Keyboard (Product Number 249711-002). This keyboard is handy for inputting a large amount of data quickly and folds up into a very compact size for easy portability.

-This pocket pc only comes with Wireless Bluetooth, but it is easy to add other wireless connectivity by getting a wireless adapter like the Linksys Wireless-G Compact Flash Card WCF54G. This state-of-the-art wireless adapter is compatible with 802.11g and 802.11b (2.4 GHz) standards, has a throughput of up to 54 Mbps, and supports up to 128-bit WEP encryption security.

I bought a refurbished IPAQ 2215 with 1-year warranty from Amazon.com and it is reliable as any new IPAQ pocket pc.

It even has a name...
My girlfriend called my HP iPAQ h2210 "Clara"... I like it and I love my handheld, it's very usefull.

I use the Bluetooth connectivity every single day, I have a Bluetooth headset, a Bluetooth cell phone so I can make phone calls from my iPAQ's Contacts List while my phone stills on my pocket and answer calls with the headset as well. Also, I can transfer files from my iPAQ to my desktop computer thru bluetooth and synchronize it, connect to the internet via Bluetooth thru my desktop computer, send SMS... you name it.

Also it has the NEVO program so you can control your TV, Hi-Fi, VCR and even learns new codes.

Highly recommended...
