There are icons for two games on the games section, but when I select either of them, my machine locks up and I have to turn it over and reset it every time.

I have no problem hot-synching; the critical functions do what they are supposed to.
I didn't expect the above-mentioned glitches though, at this price.

I agree about the sound problem. The high pitched sound is somewhat annoying especially if one knows about its existence. However, as time goes, things are pretty better now. This PDA has almost everything. Well, not web, phone and camera functions though. But it is definitely a good one to pick. The reason is the softwares that you can obtain for free at PalmSource. My favorite is EasyCalc which acts nearly the same as a TI-83 (finding zero, trigonometry functions, graph, table...). That alone helps me save nearly $150 on the calculator. The screen is wonderful: clear, crisp, colorful and bright. Frequently I use it as a flash light to pick something up from under the table. :-) With the subscription of AvantGo.com, you can read news, stocks, movies. Several channels which you might love is CNET News.com, PCWORLD.com, Accuweather, Yahoo,... And there are so many other channels at Avantgo. Extend your capability (and your PDA's) by purchasing a 128MB or 256MB SD card. With a 256MB card (around $46), you can transfer many MP3 songs into it and listen to it using the T2. You will need the RealOne player for Palm OS though, but it is very easy to obtain. You do not need the Palm MP3 Kit though as you can use RealOne Player (newest version) to transfer your songs directly to the card (plugged in the T2). This saves you $80 for the kit. These are some of the softwares which you should download for free at PalmSource.com. HappyDay: never to forget anyone birthday and anniversary again. It helps you export reminder to DateBook and Todo List, help you know how many days are left until a specific event. You have to change a custom field in your address book to birthday (or anniversary or...) to make the software recognize the date. Also the date must be in the format of mm/dd/yyyy (no mm-dd-yyyy though, so funny) JPEGView: for its price(free) this one is excellent: the quality is beautiful and very clear, unlike ACDSee (which is also free) HandyShpr: Act mainly as a shopping list and help you remember price at different stores. Great but I wonder if would take a bit of time when go shopping. It is best to have someone input while you shop :-). Other than that, it have other functions which let you make checklist,to-do list... Adobe Acrobat Reader for Palm OS (free at Adobe.com), with the ability to turn almost any kind of document to PDF type, you can read virtually everything in your T2. I especially love the slide-show tool (showing off your most beautiful pictures with your friends and amaze them with this easy-to-use yet powerful tool) Plucker: now we are speaking about great saving. You can download virtually any webpage (with pictures ;-))with this hand software. Yet it is FREE. Since you can spider any web pages, the content might be a little big thus you might need to experience with the parameters a bit. Don't go with the script-base version though. Download the destop base which has a easy to understand interface. Compare to AvantGo, Plucker is more versatile in exchange for the a bit messy (depends on your settings) look. AvantGo sure has a better organize look and beautiful and professional ads (I love the way ads are put in CNET channel, so beautiful is the color :-), I am crazy, don't you think? Get a T2, and you will feel the same) (If you are a college student like me you may need) ChemTable (so descriptive), converter (if you don't happen to know how many mile is a meter, many different conversion), EasyCalc (now you can throw or sell your TI-83, or not buy it at the outset).

Hmmm...Beautiful but Buggy
I've had this Palm for about 8 months or so. Very impressed with how well it works and its expandability w/ the memory cards, document synchronization w/ the computer and the like. All the reviews above and below noting how great it works are true. Two very bothersome bugs have come up of late: 1. The screen whistles...LOUDLY. I've taken it to reputed Palm experts and they scratch their heads. I can hear this incredibly high pitched whistle even over the noise of my car on the highway. Makes it really annoying if I'm reading lengthy documents. 2. The digitizer has to be reset just about every time I turn it on. This is the thing that recognizes the location of the stylus on the screen. It consistently recognizes it about 1/4 inch to the right and below of where it really is. Another annoyance. I'll tolerate these things for another year or so, then probably buy another unit. But it won't be a Palm.

It doesn't work
This unit does not synchronize correctly. Sometimes my documents do not synchronize, other times old documents overwrite newer documents. Palm technical support was not helpful. They offered a few suggestions that did not work then gave up on me saying the problems I am describing can not occur.

All I can say is: WOW!
I have been a longtime fan of the Palm Operating System and have owned several different models, from the m125, the m130 and I have used several different models including a Sony Clie as well as the m515 and even the Handspring Treo -- nothing and I do mean NOTHING compares.

First off, let's talk screen: going from the color of the m130 to the T2 was very much like jumping from a 13" color TV up to a wide-screen plasma HDTV. Simply incredible. You can operate the screen with the backlight or without, saving batteries and making the screen MUCH easier to read outside in sunlight. My m130 was just shy of impossible to read with practically ANY sunlight on it.

Next, storage space. Definitely a nice upgrade from the standard 8mb in the m130. A whopping 32mb's of memory allows me the freedom to add plenty without worrying about transferring it all to my SD card -- which by the way took an ETERNITY to access using my old processor. Now I can concentrate using my card for mp3's.

Next, ergonomics. Again, compared to my trusty m130, this is a GIANT leap forward. The compact design is absolutely amazing. I simply cannot tell you how convenient it is that the T2 slides up to reveal the Graffiti writing area, making it still a small device when fully extended, but easily one of the smallest models available especially for during the times when you do not need to write anything down. Just brilliant.

Next, the recorder. I am still in awe of how useful this one item has become to me. I have often wished I could jot something down on the spur-of-the-moment while driving only to put it off for fear of wrecking my vehicle, and ultimately I end up forgetting what it was in the first place. The T2 has totally eliminated this problem for me. Now I record my ideas and reminders on the go and my biggest problem now is remembering to place it within reach while I'm on the road.

The increased accuracy while jotting down a note in memo-pad is a REAL improvement over my m130. I can't tell you how many times I went to write down something quickly only to have the screen screw it up and the handwriting never quite looked natural at ALL. Now the T2 has made all of that look much more like real handwriting and a vast improvement over what they had before.

The vibrate alert is also a VERY handy addition for use during important meetings where being quiet is an absolute MUST.

All in all, I can't remember how many times I have thought to myself: Wow, this thing is incredible! And lately I've been thinking more of why it took me so long to make the switch to something better. I suppose in the long run I kept my m130 mostly because I am a die-hard fan of the Palm OS and since it worked virtually flawless for several years, why upgrade? I guess I dropped it one too many times, and after needing to be re-set almost daily and the battery never fully charges and therefore after losing my current information one more time than I wanted, I made the move -- and I am certainly glad I did.

There have been several reviews critical of the T2 for one reason or another, and I am sure they are valid -- however in MY personal experience the T2 has worked absolutely PERFECT since day 1 and has given me no problems at all. I am 100% satisfied and cannot even consider a time when I will use a PDA manufactured by ANY other company. Very impressed.
