Date: 2003-12-04 It's not that bad! Unlike the other reviewer I find this model a vast improvement over the Palm 505. I like the size and the display! The lack of a docking cradle was a surprise but you get an adapter for hot syncing and power. A cradle seems to run 20-30 so it does not bother me that much. The stylus does take some getting use to. I didn't find grafetti 2 much of a change. Don't use mail so I can't judge on that. All other programs worked just fine! As to the claim of a case should have been included. I have only had Palms and they didn't come with a "decent" case. The cover is way better then that cheasy one that palm used to give out. I like it though I probably would have picked up the TJ35 if I had thought this out. I am not disappointed with this purchase! Oh do keep the box because you need a serial number to get the refund!!!!!! I tossed mine! :(
Date: 2003-11-07 Just Falls a Little Short in Some Key Areas (I'm upgrading from an 8mb monochrome Visor Deluxe). At first, I was torn bewteen the Palm OS and Pocket PC, but chose to stay with the Palm OS. Other friends have gone the Pocket PC route and are disappointed. No doubt the Sony is worth the money. I am no MP-3 fan, so I didn't need the TJ35. I just HATE the stylus, which is flimsy and is designed to extend (to 3.75in) or retract (to a measly 2.5in!!). It also doesn't remain securely in the housing and I find myself checking to see if the stylus is about to fall completely out. The cover for the screen is nice but I would prefer a case that covers both back and front. The absence of a cradle is certainly a con for me, since one has to charge the battery in addition to doing hot sync. Excellent display, size, fit and finish. I seem to have some hot sync functions.. I can't get me e-mail (outlook) on the Clie.. do I need a memory stick for that? Didn't need that for the old Visor. Just when I was getting comfortable with Graffiti, they come out with "Graffit 2".. a step back if you ask me. For a 5 star rating, it would have to come with a cradle, a decent stylus, a memory stick and a proper case.
