20Gb iPod Used
The screen does not turn off and was most likely the reason it was sold. It works well musically but it is hard to read because light has all but burned out the letters. It is a good back up and was a good price, but I am a disappointed.

Boooooo iPod
I really wanted an iPod. It was all I talked about---how much I wanted an iPod. My friends went in together to buy me one for my birthday last year and it was great---for about 3 months. That's when the hard drive crashed and I had to send it back to Apple. I am now on my 3rd player, having had catastrophic hard drive failure after catastrophic hard drive failure for no apparent reason. Of course, it is still under warranty (by the way, iPods are the reason for extended warranties), but nonetheless, it is irritating, and I can't believe Apple can get away with this.

Now, let me preface this next little section by saying that I am not a technical moron--I know my way around computers pretty well. But, my iPod breaks all the time. It freezes up, it cuts off the end of songs, it is not easy to reset. I have to restore it about once per month (meaning that I have to reload all the songs). The volume equalization doesn't work very well, it is darn near impossible to back it up, the PC interface software is not very stable. And that's just off the top of my head. The best thing about the iPod is Apple's service--they have great tech support (which they ought to have for as much $$ as their stuff costs.)

I thought that I would have my iPod for at least three years before I needed something new. For the money my friends spent on it, it should have lasted. But, I am now in the market for a new NON-APPLE mp3 player that I don't have to constantly fuss with.

I hate this item and regret buying it
The loudly touted iPod is a poor piece of technology which breaks easily and what is worse the customer service offered by Apple is criminally poor. There is no help desk so forget about speaking with a human - they don't want to hear it. You can also forget about reporting the problem on their site - they make it difficult. If you manage to negotiate their site, don't expect to ever hear from them. The expensive iPod I purchased freezes after a song or two, and I haven't yet owned it a year. Despite following the trouble shooting instructions, it remains frozen until the battery runs out. There's no way to reset it. Any attempts to pursue the warranty guarantee will cost money for shipping and packaging...there are no locations to bring the iPod to be serviced if its broken. If you want to buy something portable to play your music, be sure to investigate the customer service policies and promises so you don't end up like me! And in my opinion, you're throwing your money away if you buy anything from Apple - my Apple experience was a big disappointment, and an expensive one, but its my last!

NOT Worth It!!!!
Okay so I got this for christmas when it was still worth a lot it was around 300.00 and it worked and worked until around March. It just started getting stuck on hold when it was never on hold and freezing I tried restoring it and I called the company. The man was really nice but they try to trick you into buying a new warrenty. They told me that it had been over 3months and that the warrenty had expired but I had the paper saying 1 year warrenty he said thats for being able to call and that i needed to buy a new warrenty for 59.99. This ipod is not worth one penny. I explained that it started to show a picture of an ipod with a sad face and he told me ipods dont do that. i wasnt lying I am currently saving for a 30gb video ipod and i will be buying everything nescessary and keeping everything that way the ipod will look new when it breaks and they cant say i dropped it. NOT WORTH IT

Reconditioned IPod
I was REALLY worried to spend a couple hundred dollars for a used electronic item, but it turned out to be foundless. It does not even appear to be used, and is in perfect working order. It was also delivered exactly as promised.

Addendum - Unfortunately, it did not last more than a few months. Very disappointing after all.
