Still decent MP3 player
This is a decent MP3 player that I enjoyed using a lot. It is very portable and easy to work with. I especially liked the fact that it uses removable AAA battery as a power source. In my experience with portable devices, the battery would more often than not be one of the weakest points of any device. I also enjoyed the integrated FM tuner and the overall sound quality. The build of this device is really solid, and five years after I had originally bought it it still works as well as ever. However, one big problem with this device is the ease of use. The controls are very counterintuitive, and the buttons are not easy to use, especially if you are working out. The biggest problem that I had with this device had to do with transferring the files from a computer. The files would often not appear on the device itself, even though they would show clearly whenever I had attached the player to a computer. This became very frustrating and was one of the main reasons why I eventually opted for a different player. However, as a bare-bones MP3 player it is still pretty good and I still have an occasional use for it.

You wash and dry it and it still works!! Solidly build
I have more than 4 SDMX1s all of them are very solidly build. Of course by accident over the years, I dropped them, washed them with in Hot Water Cycle, Dried in a drier ... they got a little body damage but they still work!! Amazing!

For the price, GREAT.
Wonderful for the price:

-Plays both mp3 and WMA
-Radio works well
-Saves spot when turned off or switched to radio, VERY important if used to listen to podcasts, lectures, or books on tape.
-Cheap
-AAA battery, I use rechargeable batteries and this way I never have to wait for it to charge (as with internal batteries)

The only downside could be the 1GB capacity, but for this category of player it's great.

SANDISK MP3 IS A GREAT VALUE!
THIS MP3 PLAYER WORKS GREAT IF YOU CONVERT THE MPA FILES TO MP3. YOU CAN DO THIS THROUGH MEDIA PLAYER OR MEDIA MONKEY. THE MPA FILE SONGS ARE A BIT CRACKLY UNLESS YOU CONVERT THEM.

Great for the price
Great for the price. However after a while the headphones give a problem. Only one of the headphones works. But great to use as recorder, player and radio.
