Hard to use
This player has too many useless features that are hard to use. The supplied manual is all but useless, and when we bought ours no online manual was available (there is one now which was very helpful in figuring out the non-intuitive procedures). My player several times narrowly avoided being tossed in the bay after freezing up as I tried to switch from radio to mp3 mode, then endlessly looping thru the radio spectrum til I shut it off. I am by no means a tech newbie, and I found the operation of this thing to be a real pain. It has now been a month and I have finally figured out and memorized the convoluted, non-intuitive procedures for most operations. I am now just hoping the cheesy joystick control doesn't break, which would render the thing completely useless, at which point it will sleep with the fishes in Elliot Bay.

Pretty Happy
The SanDisk player is tiny and has good sound. The buttons are not arranged for a left hander and the display window is small but once you get used to it, it's pretty easy to use. Overall, a good value.

Why I was dissatisfed with this product
I purchased the SanDisk 1 GB MP3 Player a few months ago. My only reason for buying one of these wonderful new gadgets was to listen to books on tape. Thought I could walk with this easier and also listen in the car with an adaptor. The smaller size was also better for traveling. I downloaded a few books to it from my local library and was excited with I figured out all those small controls and it began to play. THEN, after I stopped to do something and went back to it, the player began the book at the beginning. Thinking I was not using it correctly, I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to pick up where I left off. Finally I called SanDisk and after a long time on the phone, was told all their players return to the beginning and there is no way one can start up again where you left off. For a book this is obviously an impossible situation so I returned it to Amazon, paying a shipping fee etc. My annoyance is that there was no way I could see to find that I could learn this ahead of time and choose another one that had the 'bookmarking' feature. That is what I need to use a player for books. No where on-line or in the literature was this explained. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Good little mp3 player
It's cheaper than an IPod shuffle and has a screen, FM tuner and voice recording. It also plays a wide variety of formats. The sound quality is OK, though I don't konw how it compares to other mp3 players. Overall I am happy with the purchase.

Great Little Player
This little player is great for fitness workouts, and anywhere you want a very small easy to carry player. For a novice, getting started was a little frustrating, but I got it working and am very happy now. Downside is that the manual is written for the v.1 and some instructions are no longer relevent for the v.2. Called tech support. There is not a speed control on the audio menu, and you can no longer delete from the player alone. This is not a big deal since neither of these features got much use. Come with ear buds are not comfortable unless you have large ear holes,(bought new ones) and a better case selection would be nice.(haven't found any)
Upside-- Downloading from my computer is easy--drag and drop, delete and add, all fast and painless. Small, easy to carry, light weight, good sound quality, fair price.
