handy and strong
bought this just to have some music at the office and in the gym. had it about a year now, no complaints. i do recommend tossing the earbuds. they are uncomfortable and the sound is so-so. I replaced them with some Sony behind the ear type phones for nine dollars at Best Buy. Sound is about the a little better, but the comfort is hundred times better. the fm is surprisingly good. the voice recorder is extra baggage imho. this player came with an armband carrier and everything I needed. Battery life is very good. the controls aren't too friendly, but they don't take too long to master. it's been banged around a little, including riding on a handlebar mount of my motorcycle, with no ill affects. If you want a good, inexpensive player, that holds about 5 or 6 hours of tunes, this is a viable candidate.

Pretty sweet, but make sure to update the firmware
This thing works really well. The sound quality is great, the features all work nicely, the controls are easy to use and the interface is clear and understandable. I'd like to be able to perform common operations with less effort, but overall this guy gets my recommendation. I use a pair of Sennheiser earbuds instead of the pair that comes with the device.

The fact that this sucker runs on an AAA battery is a lot nicer than you might think. While traveling--or heck, if you're me and you're no good at remembering to charge things--you can just pick up some AAA batteries and enjoy another few days of use. No need to remember yet another charger or have to dock the thing to a PC to charge it. And if you want to use rechargeables, go ahead--there are lots of inexpensive AAA rechargeables with rapidly increasing capacities.

The one frustration I had with this was that I wanted to listen to podcasts on it, and it wouldn't play any of the podcasts I downloaded--some kind of problem with long/low bit rate files. Everything worked after I downloaded the firmware update from SanDisk's site. (Which was easy as pie, by the way.)

Great, Cheap and asome!
This is a great little mp3 player. I would highly recomend it for those in the market for a mp3 player. A great size for jogging, hiding from teachers in those tight jean pockets, or just stay at home moms cleaning up around the house. It has great sound quality, and perfect size and memeory for me. The buttons might be a little samll for big hands, but thats just about the only con I have found in it so far. The seller i got it from sent it quick and I'm very happy with it. Great little screen, unlike that of the IPOD shuffle, wich is without a screen. With four buttons and one joystick, this mp3 player is realy good quality buy it and I know you will not be disapointed with it.

Had it for a While
Well... lets see. There isn't really much to say about this MP3 player, other then that it's the BEST one I've gotten since my dad got me one for christmas two years ago. My first one was a philips. It broke. replaced it with another philips of the same modal. it broke. Then I got my Sandisk. I've had it since then, and it's holding about 100 songs for me. It works fine, even though I think it'd be better if it took AA batteries like 99% of the other things I have do. Would make life a lot easier when you've run out of batteries on a long trip, and all you have are AAs.

But still, the batteries last a while. I use to listen to it for about an hour every day on the bus home from school, and the batteries lasted for EVER it seemed like!

I've also dropped it a good number of times, as it's bound to happen in school. But it still works like a charm. It fits nice in my pocket with all the other junk I carry in there, and... well, that's about all I have to say. This Sandisk is just about perfect for me, I think.

The BEST for gym use
I bought this for $30 at a pawn shop as an impulse buy. I wanted something for the gym and didn't want to pay hundreds to look like every other iPod drone out there. I knew that I would eventually drop it and bang it around so the price was right for something that I would inevitably break.

That was a year ago. This thing is still going strong. It's a tough little sucker. I dropped it while running one day on asphalt. When I jogged up to it to pick it up, I accidentally kicked it (Hard!) and it slammed into the curb. I was sure that it would be all busted up but when I picked it up not only was it intact, it was still playing!

If you want something relatively inexpensive that you won't be heartbroken if you break it in the gym, then this is your player. If you want to look like every other faceless idiot out there that doesn't mind overpaying for a subpar product, get an iPod.
