User Submitted SanDisk 512 MB MP3 Player Blue Reviews (cont...)Date: 2006-07-29 Good, easy-to-use player Pros: - Perfect if you have a very small music library or if you prefer to carry around only a few songs with you at once. It holds 512 MB and I can usually store around 110 average-length songs (about 4 minutes each) on it. - This is great for people who want to listen to music while jogging or working out. It uses a flash drive, which, unlike an internal hard drive, can't be damaged if the device is shaken. Also, it comes with an adjustable armband that works great. - Very durable. I've had mine for nearly two years and it's still in excellent working condition, despite some minor abuse. - Good battery life. It takes one AAA battery, which will last you several hours if the mp3 player is played continuously. - Very easy to use. Plug it into your computer via a USB port, and copy and paste the music files you want onto the drive. Even someone with minimal computer skills could use this with ease. - Comes with voice recorder and radio. The voice recorder works nicely, but it can sometimes be hard to get a radio reception. (This isn't a big deal if you're planning to use this primarily for mp3s.) - Also makes a great external flash drive for your computer. In addition to music, you can also use it to store files and easily transfer them to another computer. Cons: - Controls aren't that great. They take some getting used to and are very small, which can be difficult to use for someone with large fingers. - Not very much space for someone with a large collection. Again, it only holds 512 MB (around 110 average-length songs). If you're looking for more space, I'd suggest going with SanDisk's 1 GB model or looking at another device. Bottom line: This is a great mp3 player that's very simple to use and perfect for using while jogging and such. Even though they're hard to find nowadays, they're a very affordable alternative to other players such as iPods. But like I mentioned before, if you're looking for an mp3 player to hold a large music collection, this isn't for you. Date: 2006-07-24 perfect for travel Yes its an out dated model, but worth it. easy to load with music, great for the plane and for sleeping at night. If you don't need a name brand slung around your neck.... buy this. eight hours is a lot of music. The only drawback, the buttons are micro small,,, if you n4ed bigger buttons, buy the newer additon. Off to Turkey this week and its loaded with hours of quiet music. Good buy. update dec 2006, well the damm small buttons got to me, need something bigger, buttons have not held up well, is playing irratically after only moderate use. Date: 2006-05-01 GREAT! This has been a perfect player, I have had it for over a year and it is still opperating perfectly. I have never used all the memory on it and it is super easy to load songs onto. You just plug them in and drag them to the folder. It's very small and light- perfect for working out! If you don't want to spend as much as an ipod or you are not familiar with computers this player is perfect for you! Date: 2006-03-02 I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!! I am so addicted to my MP3 player. I ABSOLUTELY love it. I carry it in my purse (great for times when you get stuck waiting somewhere) and sometimes I even listen to it at night. It hold ALOT of music. Again, I LOVE IT!!! Date: 2006-02-11 worked well for about four weeks I got this for Christmas from my kids. I loved it the first few weeks. I use it while running. After four weeks, the player shorts out, then resets itself and shorts out again. I've tried changing batteries and head sets, but this is obviously not the problem. I'm very disappointed, yet afraid to let my kids know it's not working properly since they just bought it for me six weeks ago. Prior to this problem commencing, it would lock up and I would have to uninstall the battery and reinstall it to get it to turn on. Buy the dell dj ditty instead, or an iriver or ipod nano. My husband got the ditty and my kids the nano's they work great. More money, but mine is now basically worthless after just six weeks.
