User Submitted SanDisk 512 MB MP3 Player Blue Reviews (cont...)Date: 2005-12-16 poor battery life ruins the good things this player had going for it If the battery life was longer, or there was a rechargable battery that could easily be charged on a laptop, I would say this is a good player... but it's not. The battery life got shorter the longer I had the player (I got in Christmas 2004). When it was low on batteries (i.e., after about 5 hours of use) the player turned off when I would try to skip tracks (though it would continue to play if I didn't skip tracks). The reason I give it 3 stars instead of 1 or 2 is that the radio worked great, and I could change stations without the player constantly turning off on me. The player was easy to use and the memory was plenty for what I wanted it for, but having to change the battery once a week really adds up in extra spending on it. The arm strap is really nice for running. This is a tad petty, but the headphones are made for someone who's right handed and would wear the strap on their left arm. So it makes it a little difficult if you prefer to jog with it on your right arm for lefties like me -- the cord is shorter on the left-ear side so sometimes the left earbud it gets pulled out of your ear. Also, they don't sound very good anymore. I am disappointed because I'm going to end up buying ANOTHER mp3 player this Christmas. The extra money I will spend on a nicer one I would have spent on batteries, anyways. Overall, I would discourage anyone from buying this unless they will use it infrequently. Date: 2005-12-12 A Solid...Very Solid MP3 Player...Great Value I have been using my SANdisk 512MB for about 3 months now. It is a classic solid MP3 player. I use it for exercising with the armband that came with it and a 3d party "sports" headphones. The display works well. The battery life is good to excellent. I just have no complaints. I would have given it a 5 star rating if the user interface was a little better but it is minor drawback. This player fits my specific requirements : LCD display, a single AAA battery, 512MB, plays MP3 & WMA files, and was less than $90. (I did not want to worry about being near a computer or have an adapter to "recharge" my portable device) I purchased mine for less than $90 and have had no regrets. In fact, I will probably give this one to one of my kids and purchase the 1GB version for myself. I do not regularly use the FM radio feature thus no comments...but I have once or twice tried the FM radio with no problem. In my opinion, as an "exercise/on-the-go" portable MP3 player, the SANDisk MP3 player is a good value and worth considering. Date: 2005-11-28 beats the screenless shuffle This is a great player. first of all it is in fact, flash based, so its ment for running and will not break fron a drop or 2. the screen is not color, its just your every day screen that oyu would find on most CD players. it is blacklit and easy to read. i would recumend geting the sansa player by sandisk because it is the same price as this one but it has expandable memory, which is very nice. this player comes complete with a player, headphones, case, and battery. I would recumend this prodcut for anyone who has a low budget, and only has 200 songs or so that they like. this player feels really like 1 AA battery in your hand. which, if you ask me, is not heavy at all. another nice thing about this player is the battery is removable (un-like the shuffles) so based on what i just wrote this player is very nice right? Ohh, and dont forget about that price tag. for the Apple 512gb shufle it is almost 100 bucks! this is 20 bucks less and has more features. a great buy:) worth every penny Date: 2005-11-22 Getting the Most for your Money In today's society, people are a lot more careful on what they spend their money on. Date: 2005-11-14 MP3 Blue Defective and Return to SanDisk My MP3 stopped working 6 weeks after delivery from Amazon. Followed instructions from SanDisk to return for a replacement and have not heard back from them in 3 weeks. Call the customer support number and they do not have access to my replacement order number or inventory at there warehouse. I rate their after sales support terrible at best. Agent said warehouse is focused on retail sales for holiday and has no idea when replacement will be shipped. Obviously focused on $$$ and not customer satisfaction.
