User Submitted Microsoft Voice Command 1.5 for Pocket PC & Pocket PC Phone Edition Reviews (cont...)Date: 2006-07-25 Not smartphone compatible Buyer beware. While this program is prominently advertised on the CD that comes with the TMobile SDA smartphone, it is not compatible and only works with phones running Windows Mobile 2003 or phones such as the MDA. Although there appear to be Smartphone compatible beta versions running around, Microsoft denied their existence to me. Date: 2006-07-17 good but not perfect microsoft has done well to create a voice req program that can read and speak without programming it. however, i cannot start the program via my bluetooth headset and cannot hear the prompt in my ear. i can only communicate with the phone itself, defeating the purpose of a bluetooth headset. also, more discrimination needs to be added to media player; i cannot play only mp3s or just videos. recognitition is reasonably good, but there are times when it is simpler to just press the button instead. Date: 2006-07-14 A Useful Program, But Maybe Not Ready For Prime TIme I have been using Voice Command for about 2 months now and I am pretty amazed at the accuracy of it's voice recognition, that is, when Voice Command gets it right. When it fails to understand multiple pronunciations of the same name it can quite frustrating. Recently, I was trying to call a friend and Voice Command was trying hard to find him, but kept coming back with the same wrong response. No matter how I pronounced my friend's name, it found another name. I think that Voice Command would be better if it had some learning capability so that if Voice Command fails several times, it will stop returning the same incorrect response. An optional learning mode that would allow you to teach it hard-to-pronounce names might be useful for those that need it. Also, I would like it to be integrated with my Bluetooth headset. I would like to simply push the headset button to activate Voice Command. This would eliminate the need to find the "Voice Command button" on the phone. I mean, how hands-free could a phone be if you didn't even need to touch it! I haven't found Voice Command very useful for tasks other than dialing. I have had little luck with opening applications or files, although the time and date features are handy. As I said, I am amazed at the accuracy of Voice Command when it works, especially since it works with no training at all. I would recommend it for anyone that wants reasonably accurate voice dialing. Date: 2006-06-29 MS Voice Command It's very good and makes it easy to launch programs or dial phone numbers. I'm still testing it, but so far it's doing great. Date: 2006-03-09 Adds safety to driving while on the phone but have to be patient with the voice recognition system... I think it was an ok purchase since I am in Real Estate and I have to use my phone a lot while driving. However, it is sometimes challenging to get the system to recognize a specific name or command. I have to try different ways to pronouce a name until I realize which one the device understands. I would not recommend against buying it but just know that it will take some getting use to and patience to get it to work the way you want it. Jorge.
