TX leaves something to be desired
Palm's TX product should be a great product but it has some problems that will prevent it from being so. Most nagging are: 1) accessing some applications cause the unit to unexpectedly reset, 2) some applications can not be downloaded to the device (via WIFI or USB), and 3) the unit mysteriously turns itself on while plugged into the charger and USB (I have not noticed this when on batteries alone; and I don't know if it turns itself off).

On the plus side, the ability to create and/or edit Excel and Word documents is fantastic and very useful and will impress anyone to whom you demonstrate it. The rotating display is very helpful and useful as well. The disappearing keyboard is great and makes for a greater viewing area. The WIFI has worked as advertized at my home location. However, on the raod, I have experienced acess problems but I expect these problems were setup/operator issues.

Handy tool for nursing
My first Palm was the Tungsten E2 which i thought i lost. I have come to depend on the quick access to info such as Tabers medical dictionary and a nursing drug book, so i went on a search for a replacement. The TX is every bit as good and better. The larger screen cuts a bit of scrolling out and the keyboard is quicker to use than writing in the Grafiti pad.
Great product at a better price than i could have gotten it localy. I got the Boxwave flip case for it and I'm loving it.
Yeah, i eventually found my tungsten.

Secretary in a box
This is my first Palm and I am very impressed. This does a great job of organizing my calendar etc plus has many extras. The wi-fi is fantastic and easy to use. Controls are simple to work and learn. The ebook reader is a nice function and easy on the eyes. I like the extra software available - fun games, data management, shopping organizer etc.
I'm a single mom and a busy teacher and this thing has really simplified my life. I have my lesson plans and student notes right on the Palm. I can take my data right there as I'm working and then sync to my desktop. No more messy notebooks or post-its sticking around. It's also password protected. My students think I'm pretty cool carrying this thing around :)
I'm still finding more uses every day for my Palm. Love it, love it, love it!

Review of Palm TX replacing a Tungsten E
I ordered the TX as my Palm Tungsten E (TE) began its final death spiral after about 4 or 5 years. I thought the extras (bigger screen, WiFi, additional memory, speed) might be useful, and the TX cost me not much more than the TE when I got it. Fortunately, all the registered software and data was easily transfered in the initial hotsynch and re-installation where necessary, and the transition was smooth (HINT: save all registration keys). WiFi works, but not as smoothly as I might like. Otherwise, I like the TX. Battery life seems better than the TE, and the bigger screen is a real plus.

It's too soon to assess durability or reliability; time will tell.

Depending on how I am carrying the TX,I use either the Palm-supplied screen flap or a Krusell case; I really like the Krusell case (also available through Amazon).

Great product!
This is an excellent product. It gives wireless access to the internet anywhere. And it's great as an agenda and to keep all contacts information. Plus it works great as a calculator. It's great toll for business.
