User Submitted HP iPAQ hx2795 Pocket PC (FA676B#ABA) Reviews (cont...)Date: 2007-12-23 iPAQ hx2795 review I'm a pharmacy intern and use my device mostly for checking drug-drug interactions or as a drug reference. I think it's user friendly, but it might have too many features for what I use it for. I've had a problem with a portion of my screen freezing up/not displaying icons it should - these fix themselves upon reset. If you do get this product, I recommend getting the case that goes with it. Date: 2007-12-12 Excellent product! HP has alway had good products and this iPAQ is no exception. It does everything expected of it. Well worth the price. Date: 2007-11-29 not all it could be i bought this unit 11 months ago and it has not really lived up to my expecctations. THE GOOD Good battery life, excellent screen, and good feel in the hand. THE BAD The unit is slow once you have some stuff on there. about every other time that i turn it on, i have to press the on button at least twice before it comes on. then the little clock comes up for 5-15 sec while its "thinking". then i click "word mobile" and it thinks some more. then i click a file and it thinks some more. the most annonying thing is that it when you first click a program or file, there may be up to a 5 sec delay before the thinking clock appears. if you click something before the clock appears, the unit gets "behind" itself and does crazy things, so you pretty much have to wait several seconds between all clicks. very tedious. HP of course blames it on the loaded software, but there was no change when i unloaded ALL extra software. the unit comes with windows pocket PC mobile 5.0 software which has both pluses and minuses over 3.0. for some reason, windows removed many useful functions when they upgraded. for example, you used to be able to change the view on the calendar with one click (e.g. from day to month). now, you need 3 clicks. they screwed up many other menus in a similar fashion, for no apparently useful reason! i must admit, i'm not really sure if the "slow" problem is the hardware or the windows software - buit i'm sure its not my extra software. and its not too much data, as i have only used 63 out of 320 MB and i have nothing on my SD card. lastly, the design of the 4 buttons at the bottom is a bit off - its hard to press the two middle buttons without hitting the outside buttons, especially if you have big fingers. Date: 2007-11-13 HP iPAQ hx2795 I have had three Pocket PC's over the last seven years and a total of five within our household. Although I liked all of them, this one is by far the best. Combined with the 2 GB SD card that was purchased extra at a low price, makes this a powerful product to store and reacall important information. The security features, internet, voice recorder, MP3 playback etc, makes this one of the top Pocket PC's on the market in my opinion. Date: 2007-10-03 Another New Coke? This is the closest model to my old iPaq (2200 series) which finally just wore out physically (still functioned fine). This one doesn't seem to have the handwriting feature for notes which I really miss. The display screen is very crisp with vivid color and the battery lasts much longer than the old model. I am experiencing considerable issues with hot syncing with Outlook 2007. Earlier versions work fine. If this coordination is critcal for you and you're using Outlook 2007, you would probably do well to spare yourself the grief and choose a different pocket PC. The built-in hard plastic screen cover is a nice touch and I have not felt the need to purchase the optional carrying case for protection.
