Quality Sound. Poor Construction.
I had this player for about 6 months and was pretty pleased with it. The sound quality is great and it's very easy to use. If you are going to buy this product, I strongly reccomend buying some sort of case for it. I dropped mine on the carpet and the headphone jack flew across the room. Sansa support tried to help me best they could ,however, I did not have a protection plan on my device. I was eventually able to get ahold of a tech that walked me thru the steps of soldering the headphone pice back on.
I never did it, was better just to buy another player. I use this one somewhat still because it works on any speaker dock thats compatible for sansa. Threw some kids tunes on it and set it up in my sons room for bedtime music.
The buttons are a little confusing at first, but once you get used to it its not bad. I would reccomend this player as use for a docking player for music at parties or for using when you mow the yard or pull weeds. I wouldnt reccomend this for an audiophile. If you are going to drop 50 dollars and you want something small and simple. Get the 2gb clip. It doesnt have a full color screen or microsd slot, buts its an overall better value.

Works Great!
Very small size makes it convenient as a workout or backup player. Love the ability to record live radio. The only downside is that one gigabyte doesn't go very far and you run out of space very quickly. Perfect choice for a starter player though!

Keep in mind the price!!!!
I us this for work(construction) and keep it in a pocket. I have the case on order but have had no problems so far. All and all this is an outstanding little mp3 player. The sound is great, I think, and the song transfering is very easy if you use Windows media player. The viewing screen is very generic, but for fifty bucks what can you really expect. There are No complaints in my opinion.

My hubby loves his Sansa MP3
I bought this for my husband, as I knew that he would love an MP3 player but wouldn't buy one for himself. I was looking for a unit with a display window, a fair amount of storage and "cool" looking. He loves everything about it. He has 240 songs loaded and only used about 2/3 of the storage capacity.

Meets basic expectations
Bought two of the Sansa C240 for my wife and son.

Pros: 1)Price (they were on sale), 2)color screen for navigation, 3)Memory expansion slot. The 1GB of memory is more than enough for my 8 yr old son and as his needs grow (assuming this player continues to work), we'll be able to buy a memory card to hold even more music. With the price of memory cards always going down, I'll probably be able to get an 8GB card for $15 by the time he needs it : )

Cons: 1)Unlike and IPod, there are not a lot of accessories available for this model player. I could only find one style of case for the C240 and only one style of radio/docking station. 2)The included software would not load on my computer. I continued to get a "Fatal Error" and the program would not fully install. Fortunately, I think the software is only needed if you wanted to load pictures onto the MP3 player, which isn't that important to us. 3) The screen resolution isn't optimal. Album art from songs is displayed, but with the poor resolution and small screen, there's not much point to it.

Overall, I think it was a good value. As compared to an Ipod shuffle, I think this is a much better deal. This has the navigation screen and expandable memory.
