User Submitted TrekStor i.Beat xtension 1 GB MP3 Player with FM Radio (Black) ReviewsDate: 2008-12-09 Nice MP3 , FM player. Pros: AAA battery. Direct USB plug in recognized by computer as a drive, actually 2 drives 1 device drive and card is recognized as second drive. Resume in the same spot as when you turned it off, good for ebooks. Extendable with SD card. Cons: USB and battery covers are not very secured; I know I will lose them over time. When FF/REV it goes into mute. I would like to have an option to turn sound On/Off while FF/REV helpful when listening to MP3 with commercials to skip over. Over all: Price/performance is great would buy it again. Update: Volume is kind of quiet compared to other players. Date: 2008-11-26 Good for the price. FM is not stereo as advertised. You really cant beat the price. For $20 you get an expandable memory mp3 with FM and decent earphones. My first set did not come with earphones and Amazon promptly replaced. With even better phones the sound is very good, but not excellent. Not a big issue for my use (commuting in a vanpool). The minus star is for poor battery life (yet is is one battery!) and the mono FM (but reception for any portable like this is crappy so mono brings it in better without static). Really worth the price around $20 especially for a kid's first mp3 (no cord to lose). Date: 2008-11-22 SMOOTH This is a nice pick for a low cost quality mp3 player. I like the sd card addition(fits like a micro classic 8 track..lol) and the velvet smooth feel.. The user changable battery is a key for me..(Don't like expensive disposable players with built in batteries).. Fm radio is clear..Clear overall sound.. Black Suade Smooth.... What I didn't like..UPS packing was Banged and jacked up..The box truly looked as if it had fallen out of the UPS truck and ran over before it was left in my garrage...Glad the air bubbles(one out of 2 still inflated) were packed along with the player..(Not blaming Amazon). Even after all that ,,the player is Just Smooth... Date: 2008-10-20 Great low cost MP3 player This is a great, low cost MP3 player that also doubles as a mass storage device. The only problems I encountered were easily remidied. First of all, to prepare the player for usage, I had to go to the website and download the newest player file. However, the newest file did not work. I had to download an older file to actually activate the player. Secondly, the USB slot on my desktop was too narrow for this player to connect to directly, adding the small expense of a USB extension. Like I said, easily remidied, and the low cost of the player allowed extra funds for additional equipment. My main reasons for purchasing this player were the removable memory capability and batteries. I never have good luck when it comes to durability with the built in batteries. This player uses 1 AAA battery and gets up to 8 hours playback, fantastic return for a couple of dollars a time. As for the memory expansion with SD cards, this is wonderful. I can categorize my music collection to genres and store each genre on its own card to suit my particular mood. Mass storage at extremely low cost. I love the feature that the player has in which it automatically sorts stored files by artist, allowing easy access through the spectrum. I have yet to use the radio or voice recorder functions, but if they work as well as the rest of the features have, I'm in for a treat. If you want to store lots of information, don't mind having it on several SD cards, and don't want to go to the expense of an I-Pod, I would definitely recommend this product. The SD cards are extremely cheap through Amazon, with certain brands being available between $2.50 and $7.00. You can't beat those prices, and as usual with Amazon, deliveries are prompt and correct. One more fantastic feature of this player. Given the memory expansion, you can also use it to store information of a non-musical format, just like a thumb drive. To sum up - MP3, mass storage, removable memory, radio, voice recorder, battery operated, thumb drive connector. How can you beat it for 30 bucks? Date: 2008-10-14 What do you want for 30 bucks? I bought this as a cheap MP3 player to use while exercising. My Rio Karma was too bulky. Got this unit and a 2G memory card for less than $40 in a combo deal. This unit does everything so-so. The MP3 player is functional but has limited settings and options and the sound quality is average to below average. I also noticed that the head phone output only works well with the provided headphones. Using my other earbuds the volume was to low, even on the highest setting. The FM radio works pretty well and is probably the best feature. The unit also functions as a USB memory key, although a very bulky one. I havn't tried the voice recorder. All in all, I think I got what I paid for but would not recommend the unit to anyone unless their expectations were not that high to begin with.
