User Submitted Asus A626 3.5-inch PDA Windows Mobile 5.0, Wi-fi (802.11 B+g), Bluetooth 2.0 (edr), Reviews (cont...)Date: 2008-02-08 machine is OK, but RF and video playback are horrible got this pda the solid and steel feeling gives me some impression installed SD-HC support driver from Asus support, can take 16GB SD-HC without problem, that makes it becomes a decent audio player very few skip on a2dp now I explain why I give 72/100 very buggy machine, it maybe some software issue, but even the first day of use, it hangs and press reset, even the first day I did 4 times LCD is NOT viewable when backlight is off, that's why it has very little backlight when it's idle, luckily you can turn the LCD off by using hold switch horrible RF, even a few meters away from router, I only get 1-2 bars on wifi, this is simply a joke; bt is not good either, the antenna is located on the next to USB port, that I lose signal when I hold the unit on my hand restricted USB charging: you MUST use supplied AC adaptor, or computer has async installed in order to charge the unit, you can't charge with generic USB charger due to these shortcomings, I only can give 72/100, if you plan to use it as music player, or web/email, this is a decent machine for you, avoid it if you use wifi alot Date: 2008-01-26 Dead on Arrival The device wouldn't boot. When I pugged it to charge, the charge light was green. Pushing the power button or any front panel button caused the blue back-lights to flash and the device remained dark. A soft reset brought the device to the green Windows splash screen, then the device would go dark. It never would stay on to try to synchronize. I received it this Friday and have an RMA to drop it off with UPS on Monday. Support from Asus is rediculous. Date: 2008-01-12 Very Good PDA Very good PDA. The display is good sized and easy to see. I especially like the fact that you don't need to use a tiny keypad or use special symbols to input text. There is a great feature that allows you to just write on the screen and the device then translates your writing directly into whatever program you are using. Very good feature. Date: 2008-01-12 Excellent for what it does It is getting harder and harder to find just a straight PDA without a phone. The Asus fits that role perfectly. The screen is extremely bright and crisp and the unit very responsive. We're Mac users, and it works perfectly with the latest Missing Sync from Markspace. The wireless connected seamlessly with our Apple Airport base station, understanding our 802.11g network, and our WPA2 Personal encryption. Be warned, though. Using the wireless sucks battery life like a vampire in a Bela Lugosi movie. The only issue we have had so far is the unit will not recognize the memory card periodically, requiring us to remove and re-insert the card. This may be due to a bad card since we bought it from a discount bin. Other than that the unit fits what we want in a PDA perfectly. If, like us, you don't want a phone slapped onto your PDA or a PDA shoved into your phone, this device is perfect. Date: 2007-12-22 Asus A626 PDA This by far is the best PDA I have ever owned!!! Great features, easy to handle and use, great size, and excellent battery life!! Way better than my old Dell Axim. And even has Bluetooth and GPS!!
