She is taking it everywhere. The earbuds are WAY too big but when I bought it I thought we would primarily use the speaker which is great! It has a good sound quality considering this is a low tech $20 mp3 player. There are two drawbacks that I have found. 1. the bottom door that houses the battery, SD card, and usb jack flies open at the slightest touch. 2. The shaking motion really is not changing the songs, we are using the dial to change them. Overall a great buy for $20!!!!!! Date: 2008-12-28 Great MP3 Players for kids I got this for my 3 1/2 year old neice for Christmas. She LOVES music and is always stealing my phone to listen to the music on it, so I thought an MP3 player would be great for her. right out of the package it was easy to use and quick to set up. I had music on it in less than 10 minutes (and that included the time it took to rip the music from a cd). I had it all ready to go with the battery when she opened it, and in less than 5 minutes, she knew how to change songs and the volume. I didn't even bother showing her how to use the shake feature (which BTW, I found works best when you start shaking and THEN press the button down), since I knew she wouldn't get it and then it would go flying across the room, but that's ok, because the rings are very easy to use. I went to her house the day after Christmas and her mom already had to change the battery, she'd been using it so much. I definitely suggest investing in a few rechargeable batteries and keeping them charged. If your little one is as much of a music lover as my niece, you'll need them!! Also a helpful hint, the behind the neck headphones are great for little ones.. they don't fall off! The only thing I don't like about this MP3 player is that the pink one, for some reason is more expensive than the other colors... not fair! Date: 2008-12-17 Terrible Well Amazon charged and shipped several items separately charging us shipping and handling despite the fact that we were induced by the email stating that shipping and handling was free for purchases over $100. Moreover amazon is shipping the items to the incorrect address. So not only are we being lied to and ripped off, the grandchildren will not be receiving their presents in time for Christmas. We are not satisfied with how amazon has handled this at all and will not be ordering from it again. Date: 2008-12-12 Wonderful gift for younger kids I have bought three of these little things for grandchildren and they are the most wonderful little gadgets ever made. I bought the initial two, two years ago for little girls ages 5 and 3. I loaded all of their disney songs on the player and bought headphones. The headphones were quick to break and dissapear but the players lived on and on and on. I did have to replace one because another grandchild, 2 years loved it and hid it in the toilet for about 2 hours. When found we removed the batteries, dried it out and after dry replaced the batteries, BUT -- It did work for the rest of the day! Died that night. The players are still carried around like a teddy bear friend, and though battered, they are still heard around the house daily. I would recommend this item to any parent whose child loves music. Date: 2008-12-10 Just what I was looking for I bought this for my 2yr. old to carry around instead of her always wanting her dad's cell phone/MP3 player. I didn't realize the vast ammount of songs that 1GB holds. I only filled about half the memory and I don't think I've heard all the songs yet. It's very easy for her to run. It was easy for me to just plug the memory stick in my laptop and copy songs on. Drawbacks -You can't arrange the songs how you want them. -I wish there was a snooze timer so I could send her to bed with it and it would shut off by itself within 10 or 15 minutes. I think I could solve this by just getting another memory stick and puting just a few songs on it. -Poor sound quality, but kind of amazing for the size
