User Submitted SanDisk Sansa Shaker 1 GB MP3 Player (Pink) Reviews (cont...)Date: 2008-05-08 Great unit/poor customer service I bought this product for my preschooler who loves to listen to music, and kept swiping my very expensive Iphone to listen to his music...all the time. The Shaker is great, works well, and the speaker is loud enough for him to set it on the table next to him while he dances! I had real difficulty downloading music off the internet. The directions ask you to use Windows Media Player, which converted all the MP3 files that I purchased to WMA files that then would not synchronize onto the Shaker. I called and they were rude and insisted that the problem was the music, and I have a hard time believing that no one else has incurred this problem with Windows Media Player. The good news is I was able to download the files onto itunes, which kept them as MP3 files and then drag them over to the Shaker via the file explorer menu. This I found out from the internet site I downloaded music from...not SanDisk. This took almost four hours, and three phone calls to get to the bottom of. That being said, it is still a great unit but good to know the loops you'll have to jump through if you want to download music for it. It would have been nice if the customer service team knew of the short comings of their product. I was lead through the directions by two different customer service reps in a condescending manner that I had previously completed on my own several times before calling, and I explained this to them before and during their interaction with me. Date: 2008-05-08 Easy to use worth the money I bought one recently to use while I am traveling. The sound quality is excellent. It's plug and play, would recommend this little guy for anyone looking for an entry level mp3. Date: 2008-05-04 Little shaker that can This is simple to use and great for kids. Easy to download music and upgrade if need be. Sound is reasonably good and option to use headphones or not is a great bonus. The only problems are that the bottom (where the battery and the memory card are located)-always falls off and that the battery (1 AAA) runs out very quickly. Great device for the price but modifications should be made to make it perfect. Date: 2008-04-22 Shaker is OK I purchased the shaker for my daughter's 7th birthday. It took me several hours to figure out how to transfer songs to it. Can only use mp3 format which was challenging to figure out to say the least. I don't know how she was using the earbuds at first but they left sores in her ears. Did like the option to use as a speaker without earbuds. My daughter is happy with it now, but given the option I would probably purchase something else. Date: 2008-04-07 A bit of a let down I bought two of the shakers for my kids (ages 4 and 6). I liked the design and ease of use. The kids had no problems using them. They really liked the two headphone jacks and the fact that they could listen to it without headphones. My biggest complaint is it is hard to turn off (or determine if it is off). We found ourselves burning through batteries. In addition, everytime we add new music, the old music erased. This meant re-syncing all of the music every time they want a new song on the device. That made my 6 year old very frustrated with the device. All and all, they work great once the music is loaded and they have a new battery. Unfortunately, getting to that point wasn't always a happy experience.
