I was looking for a player that would play open formats like ogg and flac, and my search brought me to the iAudio 7. It sounds awesome. The video, although small, looks great. It records sound really well and the FM tuner is way better than expected. The only down side I found was the controls were a bit sensitive. You can change the setting to make them less sensitive though, and it helps a lot. For the price, you just can't beat the iAudio 7. Date: 2008-07-09 Some great features but some major problems Pros: Amazing battery life. Great EQ & sound quality. Plays many formats of music (Ogg, FLAC, etc.) Cons: FIRMWARE ERRORS!! These are seriously annoying on mine - sometimes file names come through as all gibberish. Also, the player occasionally crashes and emits a high pitched squeal. Date: 2008-07-03 Awesome player I love this player, I love that you can drag and drop everything into it without needing any proprietary software. I use linux and it works wonderful with amarok, and also I love that it accepts flac. I bought the 8 GB version but since my mom wants a mp3 player Im gona give her this one and I will buy the 16 GB version Date: 2008-06-27 Product came when promised I was very impressed with the customer service I received by Amazon. My MP3 player came quickly. I can't wait to use it. Date: 2008-06-12 iAUDIO 7 Vorbis distortion I actually like the player. However it appears that it distorts w/ Vorbis encoded files (ogg files) with a higher-pitch metalic sound on low-end music beats (such as a heartbeat). Not sure if this is a problem w/ the player's hardware or that they need to update their firmware if it is a software bug. Apparently I'm not the only one- an issue was raised on their forum over 6 months ago. If it is a software problem it hasn't been resolved yet. See the link below. [...] I raised this with their online support- answer was that it would be raised w/ their dev team in Korea. No details on when/if this will be fixed (as apparently the techs haven't read their own chat forum site).
