User Submitted SanDisk Sansa Clip 1 GB MP3 Player (Black) Reviews (cont...)Date: 2008-12-10 good I liked it: small, cute design. But i grew out too fast and needed more memory. Unfortunately, Sansa 8GB is too expensive for me so I went with E-matic. Date: 2008-12-10 Great deal for the price, but... Well, I've had this MP3 player for about 6 months. I purchased it as an inexpensive substitute for the overpriced ipod I had used for the past 3 years. It's great for the price -- good sound, cool design, easy to use. Some flaws that a potential buyer should know, though. The wiring and connector section for the ears buds is flimsy and awkward. The base of the connector really sticks out -- a better design would have been an L-shaped connector, or at least a smaller one. And, I've been using electrical tape to secure the earbud wires at the base for 4 months. The Apple brand (of earbuds) is much sturdier. Another design problem -- I lose my page in a book(I mostly use the Sansa for audiobooks) whenever I charge up the unit -- it "resets" itself to the beginning of a chapter or (even worse) the book's introduction. Lastly, the Sansa lacks the "shuttle" or "scan" capability that made the original ipod a fun gadget. Despite these flaws, if I ever lose or break my Sansa, I'll replace it with the same product (or its descendent) in 2.2 seconds! And, one convenient tip -- I can use my Motorola cell phone charger (at home or in the car) to juice up the unit! Date: 2008-12-09 My third Sandisk MP3 player, not one lasted 3 months Nearly 2 years ago I purchased a Sandisk MP3 player at Costco. 2 months later it stopped working, I returned it and got a replacement. The second one didn't last either, but was outside the 90 warranty, so I threw it away. Next I tried a Freestyle waterproof MP3 player (my husband uses the device 3 days/week for 2-3 hours each day while working out at the gym). This didn't last, it failed barely a month after purchase. I contacted the company, sent the device back to them, the company replaced it with a new one. Same thing, it died in less than 2 months, but the original warranty was expired, I threw it away. Now, the Sansa Clip. I purchased this 10/22, received it less than a week later, and by 12/3 my husband came home with another non-functioning device. I've e-mailed the company twice, no response yet. The Sansa Clip has a one year warranty, but only if you can get a response from them. After talking with several co-workers, I've given up. I'm just buying an Ipod Shuffle, which I should have done in the first place! Date: 2008-12-07 GREAT For The Price Point! This performs really well for the money spent! While I would have loved to buy my wife an iPod instead I really couldnt justify the price as she required FM to listen to the TV at the gym while she exercises & the add on FM radio for iPod is an additional $50! I loaded some songs using the included Rhapsody free trial with no problems & the FM radio has better reception in the house then my expensive Pioneer receiver with an upgraded antenna, said antenna cost more then this MP3 player:-) Date: 2008-12-03 I LOVE this item I love this item. It is small with a big clip so it does not interfere with my workout or fall off during intense activity. The controls are conveniently placed so I can advance or reverse it without looking at it. There is no special software that has to be downloaded or installed. It has a lot of features for a small price. Ideal for workouts. And, 1 GB can hold a lot of music.
