User Submitted SanDisk Sansa Clip 2 GB MP3 Player (Black) ReviewsDate: 2008-11-16 Great device I rarely write reviews but I am so impressed with this little gem after 6 months of use that i really thought I should share it. I always looked for a small mp3 player that I can clip on clothes (I also have an ipod shuffle that I really like, but not for music but podcasts - for music I like to see on a screen what I am listening to). I read about the sansa clip, ordered and got it. Right at start the sound quality impressed me quite a lot - I think it is great. I then realised, that using MediaMonkey you can rate music, and sync your ratings back to your PC. So I have really enjoyed the clip. What was a complete surprise after 5 months of use, that a new firmware upgrade is available that will allow FLAC lossless support. This brings this little gem to a completely new level - basically a tool for audio enthusiasts. If you have your CDs ripped to FLAC (due to sound quality), you can sync that to the clip, rate it, and play it both on your sansa but also on a serious home equipment with a DAC and amplifier. The downside with the sansa is that sometimes it broke down and fixing it required some time searching for solutions on the internet. Also to set up the option to rate music with MediaMonkey it took some time and thinking - it does not just work out of the box. In this respect the clip is not comparable to the ipod shuffle (Apple will always win on design and usability). But once you fix issues what you get in return is just great. I still can not believe it only cost as much as it cost. Date: 2008-11-16 It's GREAT! Bought this for my husband to replace his old MP3 player. It holds more songs than his old one. He loves it! Date: 2008-11-13 A rought start, but it worked out When I first received the 2 GB Sansa Clip, I dragged and dropped several different size mp3 files. The files that were less than about 9M, showed on the Sansa Clip display and played well. Those larger than about 9M did not display and could not therefore, be played. When connected to a PC, internet explorer or windows media player showed that these larger files were on the Sansa Clip. I had four or five emails exchanges with Sansa. They were helpful and the last provided a few recommendations on how to reformat the Sansa Clip, even though the Sansa Clip comes with a reformat tool. I believe the second reformat method worked and now I can load larger mp3 files and they show up. The product is physically the smallest mp3 player I have and the clip makes it very easy to clip on a shirt or jeans pocket. I am quite happy with it now. Date: 2008-11-05 Good product.....however, not for exercising Bought this product six months ago and used it while jogging. Apparently sweat got into the on/off switch and shorted out the unit. Now it only works when connected to an USB cable (while charging or connected to the computer), as soon as you disconnect the USB cable the unit shuts down. I was very happy with the performance of the Sansa Clip and I was going to replace it with another one, until I read other reviews with the same problems. All in all a very good product....just don't use it for sports or exercising. Date: 2008-10-30 Good Item The product is in general good. I would prefer that you browse the folders as in the computer ( you have to select artist or album or song or "some kind of category" ). On the other hand product does the job, good sound, small, nice, easy to use.
