User Submitted Samsung YP-S5JAB 4 GB Slim Portable Media Player with Speaker (Black) ReviewsDate: 2008-12-29 Samsung mp3 best Great Mp3 player for the price, software excellent to use, very simple Great machine recoomend it highly Date: 2008-10-21 AWESOME!!!! I just bought this for my dad's birthday. Of course I had to play with it, so I loaded some songs and a a few pictures of my daughter on it for him. I love it so much I'm going to get one for me. The sound is great, and the headphones will blow you away. I say don't blow your money on apple products, Samsung is the way to go. Date: 2008-07-23 Great Improvement over k5 this mp3 player has everything that you will basically use. over 4gigs of memory and you can listen to your music, view your pictures clearly, and watch your videos in almost-great quality. sooo many things to do with this mp3 player. only problem that i have is that it's a little slow when you use the touch buttons. [...] Date: 2008-06-05 Wouldn't load Library Audiobooks I bought the YP-S5J AB specifically to play audiobooks that can be downloaded from the local library. This model was on a list the library made of devices that worked with their files, so it does work for this purpose sometimes...just not for me. I spent about three hours trying it various ways, downloading firmware, and double-checking with the library to see if I missed anything (The books played on my computer fine, so it wasn't a problem with downloading from the library). I would get the error message "It is not possible to transfer this file. Contact device maker for firmware update." I then spent half an hour on the Samsung Technical Support Line. The only thing they could tell me was to go to website and download any firmware updates, which I had already done (twice) so I am returning it. I also didn't like the design of the device with regard to its actual usage (turning on, selecting music, etc.) Using the push screen felt akward and I had to press the "buttons" multiple times before it would take, although maybe this would improve as you used it longer. Date: 2008-05-17 it's alright i purchased this product mainly b/c i like to listen to sermons, and i wanted to find a way i could speed up the tempo. i'm not completely satisfied since i did so much homework looking into this product. the fact that it has a speaker is definitely a plus. however, the buttons are too sensitive (touchpad) so that it's difficult to navigate. also, the fact that it resets your volume settings to default everytime you turn off the device is very annoying. oh, and in case anyone is wondering, if you increase or decrease the tempo speed (up to x3), the pitch WILL change - this is a bummer, but I guess there's no way around it. the video also sucks b/c the screen is TOO small. it is a nifty recorder, however, if you need to record class lectures. I think the IPOD is more user friendly, and i would recommend apple instead.
