Not for everyone, but good at what it does
I'm definitely a gadget person, so using a mobile device to check and send emails is old news in a lot of ways. I picked up a Peek some time ago out of curiosity and was drawn in by the lifetime service option. The device itself is pretty nifty - the design is sleek, it feels solid but very light, the keys are small but very usable. The service - surprisingly quick. I have a smartphone and when at the computer I keep a window open to my email, but the Peek regularly beats them both to notifying me of new mail. I'll often have to refresh my browser to reflect the new messages that my Peek has already chimed at me for. This is a great plus, since it gives me a lot of confidence that I can rely on the Peek when I prefer to decrease my phone's data connect frequency (which drains my battery quickly when set too high).

Anything bad? Well, the software isn't for everyone. It's very simple, which is a plus and a minus. There aren't many options to confuse you with, as the interface seems to have been designed to focus on reading/sending email, and nothing else. There are no filtering options or organizing features (other than the traditional inbox, sent, drafts, and trash folders). It takes several levels of clicks to get into and change any options. I personally miss having a D-pad to move the cursor around, though this can be accomplished just fine with the wheel (old-school blackberry users should have no problem).

Overall, it isn't a perfect device, but it does the basics of email very well - which is what it was originally designed for. Big-time power users might be better off with a well-featured smartphone (read: iPhone), but if you want a good email device without hefty monthly fees (lifetime service absolutely worth it), this is the ticket.

simply the best
at first i was a little scared into getting the devise because i thought it would be a toy (not serious device). once i received the device i realized i was all wrong about peek. its a email and text monster and the best part is that its for life and unlimited. i have an iphone and a blackberry but i will never leave my peek its reliable wether my income becomes sweet or sour i can always get to my peek and not have to wore about disconnection fees and reactivation. its even perfect for month to month at just 20 for unlimited text and email. most cellphone companies charge 20 hollers just for text no email. today you are making the right choice if you are buying a peek

Great device & service
Unlimited mobile texting & email messaging.
I have paid for lifetime membership for $200 - which is equivalent to about 3 months worth of smart phone service.
Allows me to keep in touch with family & friends when I am on the train.
Very easy to use & affordable.

Lifetime Service
The "Lifetime Service" option makes the Peek an outstanding offering. At $20/month, I had discontinued Peek service several months ago, due to cost, and began using my cell phone with full keyboard for email; not ideal, but $15/month cheaper. With the advent of the Lifetime Service offering, I jumped back on the Peek bandwagon.

Greatest Email Gadget Yet
Great must have email device for anyone on the go. Especially great for someone who doesn't have internet access. The device allows for multiple accounts and speedily sends and retrieves emails from just about anywhere.
